Why People Love Creative Play

I really appreciate this play workshop. There are few to no places for adults to play and it's amazing that Renee has created a safe space for this exploration. It really is an inward experience as equally as it is connecting with others. I noticed how it helped me transform somatically in my body and how I was able to express my authenticity in a welcoming space. Really excited to attend more workshops!

I have felt stuck, alone, sad, and at a loss for what to do or where to meet people. This class gave me directions (but not limits) on what to do. Which helped my ND brain. It gave me a safe place to express myself and Renee did a great job reminding us that there are no rules. We can move, and think and share in the way that we want to. It was a really nice experience that I am super grateful for.

I really enjoyed the ugly to beautiful drawing activity. It helped my mindset shift easily in just a short amount of time. Will definitely be using that one in the future!

The anticipation of what we were going to experience was delightful! And starting with word - first thought best thought - was helpful to observe my own brain trying to be "right" or "acceptable" and to "get into" just being present. I enjoyed the scribbling with my body the most, and the body doubeing while drawing so so much! It also got me so excited to continue Play Breaks with the Play Jar! 100% would recommend!!!

  • How much does it cost?

$118 plus Eventbrite fees is $127.76 for the full 3-week live series. Includes one year of recording  replays.

  • Do I have to be creative?

Many people in this series haven’t touched their creativity in years- some since childhood. You don’t need a current hobby, any talent, or special supplies — play is about the process of creating, which is a natural human ability that increases meaning in one's life.

  • What if I feel silly?

Good — that’s the point. Play feels weird at first because adults are trained to judge themselves. But learning to play as an adult requires repetition and practice to get into a comfortable flow.

  • Who's leading the series?

Renee Bryant, founder of Play Rx. She's spent over a decade helping people reconnect with creativity and play — not through discipline, but through science-backed play prescriptions designed to get you creating authentically.

  • Do I have to be on camera?

Yes, for this series, you do need to have your cameras on. It's very difficult for cohort members to play with a turned off screen. If you absolutely have to keep your camera off for a bit that's fine!

  • What do I need to bring?

Yourself, a notebook, and anything you have lying around to doodle/write/play with (colorful fun items recommended). No fancy tools, no art degree required.
